KOTA KINABALU: the incumbent for the Sepanggar parliamentary seat, Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) deputy president Datuk Eric Majimbun, has confirmed that he will be defending the seat in the 13th general election.
"I will be defending the Sepanggar seat in the 13th general election," he said when contacted yesterday.
"I have proven to the rakyat while in BN and the opposition that I serve them with respect and integrity irrespective of race and religion," Majimbun said.
The Sepanggar seat is considered a 'hot seat' as all local Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties have staked a claim on contesting there in the coming 13th general election.
Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Organization (UPKO), Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and Parti BersatuRakyat Sabah (PBRS) have all voiced their interest in the seat.
Majimbun had won the seat on a BN ticket but the party left the coalition in 2008 taking along with them the Luyang and Likas state constituencies and the Tawau parliamentary seat.
On another matter, Majimbun expressed his shock over the news that an Indonesian teacher in Tongod had been found in possession of three Malaysian identity card numbers namely 770111-125319, H0888166 and H0556718.
