TAWAU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), through its vice president Datuk Chua Soon Bui, has reached an understanding with Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) on the parliamentary and state seats they are going to contest in the impending general election.
Chua, who is Tawau Member of Parliament, yesterday said she held discussions with PKR leaders in Kuala Lumpur recently and they had agreed in principle on one-to-one fight with the Barisan Nasional. in the 13th general election.
"We support them (PKR) by giving more parliamentary seats and they will reciprocate on the state seats," she said.
Chua said that with the understanding, SAPP would retain the four state assembly seats and two parliamentary seats it is holding now.
"Our common goal is to change the government with the people's interest at heart," she said, adding that a one-to-one fight will make it easier for the people to choose who they want as government.
She said the opposition parties must realise that fighting among themselves will not help their cause, and a consensus must be reached.
Meanwhile, Pakatan Rakyat Sabah said that DAP, PAS and PKR had almost settled the seat allocation in Sabah for the 13th general election.
"There are a few overlapping seats. The list has been submitted to the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) national leaders for their attention," said Pakatan Rakyat Sabah after its 10th meeting in Kota Kinabalu on Saturday.
The three election directors of DAP, PAS and PKR Sabah will be working together to prepare for the coming election.

DeleteStar sudah mengatakan bahawa mereka akan memperjuangkan 60 kerusi dengan sendiri.
Deletemengapa Star/UBA dibelakangkan oleh SAPP?
ReplyDeleteSusahlah macam ini, walaupun semua bersetuju untuk bertanding satu-satu tetapi parti-parti ini tidak mampu bekerjasama.
Deleteini hanya membuktikan bahawa SAPP tamak dan mendahulukan agenda politik mereka..
ReplyDeletesebelum ini SAPP ada mengatakan bahawa mereka akan bertanding di 2/3 kerusi sabah dan PR 1/3 kerusi...mungkin ini adalah sebab utama mengapa Star/UBA dibelakangkan kerana mahu menjadi kerajaan negeri dan YTL ingin menjadi KM sabah kalau menang...dan ini tidak akan menjadi realiti jika SAPP bekerjasama dengan UBA...
DeleteSAPP memang tidak sanggup untuk berkongsi kuasa dengan parti lain. Lagi banyak kerjasama dengan parti lain, semakin sedikitlah kerusi yang mereka akan perolehi.

ReplyDeleteIts unsure yet whether SAPP and PKR will be able to cooperate. They may agree on one to one fight now but later on it would be a different story.

ReplyDeleteTerpulanglah kepada pihak pembangkang bagaimana mereka hendak merancang strategi mereka. Jangan sehingga habis berpecah undian rakyat baru sedar.
