Chua hails Anwar’s pledge on one-to-one fight with BN

TAWAU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) vice president Datuk Chua Soon Bui said the party is continuing the goodwill and sincerity with Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) leaders so that a winning formula will transpire into action during the 13th General Election.

"I welcome the announcement by PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that PKR is willing to compromise in some of the seats that were contested by PKR in the previous elections to accommodate SAPP and other local parties to ensure a one-to-one fight against the ruling Barisan Nasional government in Sabah," she said yesterday.

Chua who is also Tawau member of parliament said Anwar's reemphasis is consistent with his earlier announcement that PR is prepared to work with SAPP without SAPP joining the PR coalition in Sabah.

“I take it as his respect for and confidence in the opposition coalition Front in Sabah and SAPP is not the only local opposition party,” she said.

Chua said she fully greed with Anwar that the parties’ objective is similar to the opposition coalition Front.

“SAPP is committed towards this common cause in the interest of Malaysians in Sabah. We are continuing this goodwill and sincerity with PKR leaders so that this winning formula will transpire into action during the next GE13,” she said.

  1. DAP also willing to cooperate but they will not agree if SAPP wishes to contest two-thirds of the State Legislative Assembly seats.
