KUCHING: Will there be any more ettempts to have a possible pact between Party Keadilan Rakyat and Sarawak National Party (SNAP)?
A source from PKR yesterday said he did not rule out such Possibility, and was looking forward to have a "reconciliation for common benefit" coalition with the pioneer Dayak based politicai Party.
"A second PKR-SNAP alliance would see many great things especially in terms of supporters and strength. The alliance is a lifeline for both Parties," said a senior PKR member. said when contacted via SMS yesterday.
He believed that SNAP, with the situation they were in now, had little choices but to team up with Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
"Even political pundits are questioning the party's relevancy and the only exit door it has is to join the PR," he said, adding that even after its TGA on Sept 24-25, SNAP would still he in the opposition due to its "long and winding" Party history.
"For SNAP to be a BN friendly party is just like asking for the moon."
The source also said that the pact was in line with the PR's de facto leader Datuk Seri Anuar Ibrahim’s mission, who during a visit to Sabah recently, had endorsed a pact between Pakatan Rakyat and Sabah Progressive People's Party (SAPP).
"If Datuk Seri (Anwar Ibrahim) can strike a deal with SAPP, why not with SNAP also?" he asked.
He also said the pact could ease SNAP of its financial constraint.
"The PKR-SNAP alliance can source for funds together. There would be more contacts at the grassroots level especially among the youth," he said.
SNAP nearly signed to join PR earlier this year but pulled out at the last minute due to squabble over seats for the state election.
