SAPP Youth finds it a callous act for the MP for Kota Marudu cum Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Datuk Dr. Maximus Ongkili to have yet again attempted to reassure the rakyat that BN will resolve the native land claims. He even tried to portray to the people of Pitas that all is well in neighbouring Kota Marudu, to the extent of advising them to emulate the "model for a resolution".
The fact is that Datuk Dr. Maximus has been making promises after promises that a solution is in sight to the overlapping claims of land in Kota Marudu affected by the Begaraya Sdn. Bhd. concession. By gosh, Dr. Max has been MP for the area ever since 1995. He has been endowed with much power by virtue of being a federal minister ever since 2004. He is after all the most senior PBS leader after the 'Huguan Siou'. What has he been doing all these years? Why should this most recent land resolution announcement be considered to be true by the rakyat?
At the Dewan Undangan Negeri in April, Tandek Assemblywoman Anita Baranting had complained that thousands of acres of lands in Kota Marudu were approved without going through the Land Utilisation Committee (LUC). Anita said that 18,000 acres is too small to accommodate the 28 villages involved. This is a direct contradiction to what Dr. Max announced in July that 18,000 acres of communal titles will be issued.
Another mistake of Dr. Max is in claiming that the Begaraya concession was approved in 1997. In fact, and known publicly, is that the land was approved by the then Chief Minister on March 19, 1996. After that, with the rotation of the Chief Minister post in May 1996, the power to approve land was taken away from the CM to the Cabinet as a condition for the UMNO leader to let go of the CM post.
If there is genuine political will to solve the Kota Marudu land issue, it would have been solved a long time ago. As it is, Kota Marudu folks think that the recent promises of a solution are merely for election purposes, a case of "Janji terang bulan". After all, Dr. Max has made the same promises in 2004 and 2008 general elections.

dr max sepatutnya menjadi juara kepada rakyat sebagai pembela bangsa KDM didaerah KM tetpi apa yang telah berlaku disebaliknya DR mx dibuai mimpi yang tidak memperdulikan hk rakyat, saya ada melawat sonsogon magandai samparita karomoko, kg mandurian apa yang berlaku di kawasan dr mxx amat menyedikan rakyat kerana orang kampung menumpang di tanah sendiri, bah kan orang semanjung lebih diberi perlindungan daripada rakyat tempatan, apa yang menyedikan pembelaan Dr max kepada masyarakat KDM di kawasan terlibat langsung tidak menampakkan hasil selain dari pada membawa penduduk menarima communal title pada saya gran baru ini lebih membawa kepada perhambaan buruh paksa jika ianya di laksanakan suatu dasar kerajaan untuk membangunkan kewasan tersebut mka rakyat tida pilihan selain dari jadi hamba kepada tanah sendiri untuk kepentingan pihak ke 2 begaraya telah pun menguasi ratusan ribu tanah di kawasan DR max yang pasa suatu ketika dulu dia mempertahankan hak rakyat di kawasan Kota Mrudu tetpi sekarang ini bila dalam BN suda tutup mulut dan mula menunding jari kepada rakyat dan juga seolah2 tidak ada masalah kepada rakyat, mengapa DR max tidak minta setiap rakyat yang di inaya seperti sunging yang dibakar rumah digantikan dengan ratusan ribu ekar tanah kenapa pula membela Begaraya yang sebanrnya karabat musa aman menarujui syarikat tersebut, jangan jadi berua untuk mengenaya rakyat sendiri cukup lah judas mengenaya jesus pada zaman nya insaf la semoga tuhan membrakti rakyat yang terinaya salam
